In the early 1600s, The Fabulous King James I is notorious for being openly gay with a favored lover at court, and his priests are having none of it. They decide to confront the king about his brazen fabulosity that he has brazenly put on display. When they do, he cleverly, hilariously, and scandalously manipulates them into agreeing to a new translation of the Bible so he can be absolutely sure that what he is doing is wrong, as they are the only ones who can decipher the Latin bible. What ensues is an hour of hilarity and theological discussion between a man who confidently knows his place in the world all to well and a couple of priests who have to question everything they have come to know about how religion works. Winner of Best New Script at the 2025 Orlando Fringe, this fast paced witty comedy has audiences roaring with laughter while evaluating the place of the Bible in their lives.
