Homecumming tells the story of a woman who loses her orgasms, and loses herself. The orgasms are an entertaining excuse to address the play's real themes: mental health and depression. This is not a play about sex, it's about the heroine’s character development, healing and journey back to her true self. After losing her ability to thrive in her sexuality, she loses herself. Inspired from real life events, the story explores the various taboos of female sexuality in a sincere, witty, fun, cheeky and non-vulgar way in order to delve into the heroine's mental distress. After reacting poorly to emotional trauma, she feels ashamed of her decisions and actions and ultimately sinks into depression. With the help of therapy, personal work and a desire to rediscover self-love, the heroine transforms from caterpillar to butterfly and rediscovers her “joie de vivre”.
