Step back in time to 1920s Manhattan and enter the hottest, sexiest, most lively nightclub in all of Harlem... LENOX AVE! It’s the height of the Harlem Renaissance, and our singers, dancers, and band are gonna get you movin’, shakin’, and on your feet! Lenox Ave features an original score by composer-lyricist Brandon Martin that spans jazz, hip hop, blues, rock, and more... all honoring the explosion of Black art, culture, and excellence that is the Harlem Renaissance. This immersive show, inspired by Langston Hughes’ first poetry collection The Weary Blues, takes Hughes’ vivid portraits of the 1920s jazz cabaret and joyfully brings them to life. Lenox Ave finally returns after its sold-out World Premiere (also at The Renaissance Theatre Company) in 2022.
