Miss Bellas follows a global icon at the height of her fame and power in a near-future aristocratic dystopia. She lives and performs inside the Wall, an elite haven far removed from the world she once knew. Each year she hosts a lavish “Give Back” gala, a spectacle of philanthropy masking something far less generous featuring surprise appearances by fellow Fringe artists. As unrest grows beyond the Wall, her loyal assistant is pressured to make her a symbol of revolution. Torn between memory and survival, they must decide whether Miss Bellas is worth saving or sacrificing. Blending a bilingual English/Spanish script with live music and projection design, this 60-minute original musical explores performative allyship, class division, cultural identity, and the cost of forgetting where you came from. Written and directed by Giselle Bellas, whose work has appeared on FX, Netflix, HBO, and PBS, and who has performed at Carnegie Hall, TEDx, and internationally in India, Italy, and Spain.
